Founding Resolution
Resolution for the Establishment of an InterAcademy Medical Panel (IAMP)
Whereas issues in medicine and health will be central and critical to many aspects of the role of science and technology in improving the human condition;
Whereas academies of medicine and medical sciences as well as the medical sections and boards of science academies can contribute significantly to improvements in human health;
Whereas enhanced communications and collaborations between academies of medicine and medical sciences as well as the medical sections and boards of science academies may enhance their capacity to improve human health both locally and on global issues of health of overarching concern, and
Whereas an organization of academies of medicine and medical sciences as well as medical sections and boards of science academies can interact with the InterAcademy Panel to the benefit of IAP goals and objectives;
Be it resolved that an InterAcademy Medical Panel will be established in order to address issues of global importance to health and to:
- Facilitate communications between academies of medicine and medical sciences as well as the medical sections and boards of science academies;
- Encourage collaborations between academies of medicine and medical sciences as well as the medical sections and boards of science academies;
- Enable coordination and enhanced communications of IAMP and IAP as they seek to fulfill their goal to improve human health and the human condition;
- And plan periodic regional and global meetings to pursue these goals.
