EC Meeting 2008

Academia Nacional de Medicina de Mexico, 19 September 2008

The next IAMP EC meeting will be held in conjunction with the meeting of the Latin American Association of National Academies Medicine (ALANAM).

Our EC member from Mexico Dr. Misael Uribe is president of ALANAM and has very generously invited the EC to attend this conference which will be held on 18 – 19th September 2008 in Mexico City, hosted at the Academia Nacional de Medicina de Mexico.

The focus of the 2-day meeting is "Primary Health Care" and on "Rational Use of Technology in Health".

 The Minister of Health of Mexico, the Dean of the University, the president  of the  US Institute of Medicine, Dr. Harvey Fineberg, Dr. Tadataka Yamada President of the Global Health Program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are amongst the invited guests. It is hoped that this will be a very productive international meeting in the presence of these dignitaries and members of the civil society, NGOs and local medical foundations.
