Profile: 

I got my medical degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in 2007. I graduated as one of the few students to have been awarded the prestigious M.B.Ch.B with Honours degree by the University since its inception. I was awarded the Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarship Award as an Undergraduate in the University. Upon graduation, I was also awarded the Nigerian Medical Association Prize for the Best Graduating Medical Student, together with five other prizes. A year later, I was voted as the best Intern by the Medical Students_ Association, in recognition of the inspirational roles I played during my internship period. Furthermore, I was presented with a Certificate of Commendation from the State Director of the National Youth Service Scheme for my selfless service to the State during the one year period of National Service. As the Chief Resident of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, I successfully coordinated the postgraduate training programme and conducted orientation programmes for medical students, as well as newly appointed Interns and Residents. In addition, I represented the department in various academic and administrative capacities. I am an Associate Fellow of the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College, and I became a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons in April 2014, graduating as the Best Candidate in the faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I have a series of academic publications in scientific journals and textbooks, and I am a Peer Reviewer to reputable international journals. Presently, I am the Principal Investigator in a series of Institutional Research Board approved studies, including molecular studies on the clinical correlates of oestrogen and progesterone receptors on the aetiopathogenesis of uterine leiomyomata, and fetal umbilical artery doppler velocimetry among Nigerian women. I am currently appointed as a lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), and an Honorary Consultant to the University Teaching Hospital, where I'm involved in Research, Clinical Service, the training of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Specialist Trainees.
